
Geneseo High School is inviting local veterans to attend and be honored at a Veterans Day assembly on Friday, Nov. 10. Veterans interested in attending should enter through the library lobby doors (700 N. State St.) at 7:30 a.m. The assembly will begin at 8:00 a.m. and include a keynote speaker, guest introductions, and special music selections by the high school band and choir. Our Grow Your Own students visited Western Illinois University today as part of "Future Teachers Day"! WIU is a partner with our program who award our students 4 hours of articulated college credit upon enrollment at their university.

The 23-24 GMS performance season kicked off tonight at our annual 7th and 8th grade Halloween Concert. Jazz band warmed up the crowd, then the 7th, 8th, and combined bands knocked it out of the park.

A huge thank you to the Geneseo Fire Department for providing some great information for our students during Fire Safety Week. Needless to say, there are a few preschool students who want to be firefighters when they grow up.





GMS is in year two of our Student Workshop program, with trained student-leaders supporting their peers who may be struggling in courses like Math, ELA, Geography or Science. These students are building a culture of humility and service during Workshop time every day 8th period!

GMS Cross Country Girls and Boys finished an amazing run at IESA State in Normal IL today. Our teams both placed 2nd at Sectionals, with the girls placing 21st and boys 17th at state. Congratulations on a phenomenal season!











The Machine Shed rocked it on Friday night with 300 middle schoolers dancing the night away. We Partied in the USA, Macarenad, Cupid and Cha Cha Shuffled, Wabbled left and right, and had a really great time. #gmsfalldance










Over a hundred 6th, 7th and 8th graders were rewarded today for reaching their Math skills MAP Accelerator targets in September. They had the choice of fun and games in the gym with friends, or free and phone time, but every one of them earned it. Keep up the math skills building GMS!

Amber Berthoud, our Geneseo Middle School Resource Officer, was honored with a Maple Leaf Medallion presented by Dr. Brumbaugh. Congratulations to Officer Berthoud and thanks to her for being dedicated to building relationships with students, parents, and staff. Additionally, she helps to keep us safe each day so all GMS stakeholders can TEACH, LEARN, and CARE!!!
