Our GMS alumni who are in FFA at GHS worked magic through the summer and fall as their corn crop made GMS invisible from Ogden Avenue for almost five months. Now that harvest seems like a distant memory and it's a frozen plot, we'll look forward to them planting again next May. Stay warm everyone!!!

To wrap up our Socktober sock drive, 5th grade welcomed a guest speaker from the Geneseo/Atkinson Food Pantry. We learned about all the items they provide to those in need in our community and were able to present them with over 2,000 pairs of socks due to our generous Millikin families. School nurses in all buildings will also receive a bag of socks for emergencies. It feels good to help others!
GMS honored and celebrated Veterans Day by listening to a special message read by Mr. Puls, a GMS 6th grade social studies teacher who is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Students and staff also recognized family members and friends who are or were Veterans by honoring them with stars including information such as their name, branch, rank, and any conflict during their service. Thank you to all who served and thanks to our GMS social studies teachers for helping our students understand why we honor our military veterans for their service.
