We appreciated beekeepers Wendy Loitz and Mike Pries (and wife Ethel) coming today to teach the preschoolers about beekeeping and the importance of bees in our environment. They even brought some honey to taste!

This week, 7th grade ELA students led their own Socratic Seminar of research, debate and written reflection on various historical disasters. Whether the Titanic, Hindenburg, Halifax, or Chernobyl, every student engaged in direct debate, peer evaluation, peer feedback or an online topic chat. What an awesome week of high level learning, great job Mrs. Haars and Mrs. Schmidt!

Geneseo Middle School was honored on April 23rd with the IESA Divisional Sportsmanship Award. This is a huge honor, voted on by our surrounding districts, our competitors. It's an award that says GMS is a fun, safe and great place to compete. Thank you to all the student-athletes, parents, coaches, refs and fans, and to our AD Mr. Pardoe for creating this culture of excellence!

Millikin 4th graders helped clean up the garden bed in front of the elementary school in honor of Earth Day. They made light work of this challenging task. Once the weeding was finished, they spread wildflower seeds throughout the garden to help the pollinators and beautify the school grounds.
