What a week at GMS! 6th grade picked up and delivered pies and found out they are on their way to Medieval Times, 7th graders are writing their own stories up and down the hallway, and 8th grade is having their great cake cookoff decorating contest in FACS classes. #BeLEAF
GMS hosted our 2nd MAP Math Accelerator reward day today. 360 students, more than half the school, earned a goodie bag, free time with friends, and a ticket for some fresh air and fun later this week. Great job GMS, and kudos to our math teachers for all their efforts building problem solving skills!

Geneseo Middle School wrapped up a very successful volleyball season recently. And the end of this season marks the end of an era as coaches Karna Frerichs and Michelle Glazier are both retiring. They combined for over 50 years of coaching experience and were honored and thanked by players, fans, and parents at the final home games. GMS 7th & 8th grade basketball coaches and players are on the road tonight but they hosted Washington Monday night and played well in a tough early season match-up. The next home action for B teams will be this Thursday against Hampton and the A teams are road warriors until next week Thursday, November 16.

The tombs of Ancient Egypt were re-opened this past week for 6th grade sessions day. Students designed Cartouches, wrote in Hieroglyphics, spoke modern Egyptian Arabic, and Mummified apples. It was an awesome day of exploration across all subject areas.
