After eight seasons, Harvey Morton is stepping down as the boys’ soccer varsity head coach. Geneseo High School will now look to replace Coach Morton and fill other coaching roles for the 2025-26 school year.
Geneseo High School's boys' soccer teams have won four regional titles in the last 10 seasons. The program has a dedicated field at the high school–the GHS Soccer Pitch–with natural grass, team dugouts, a press box, and video board. According to Athletic Director Joe Nichols, new LED field lights will be installed at the pitch this summer.
The Maple Leafs also have a practice field adjacent to the main pitch that is complete with rebounding walls and separate goals.
Geneseo High School’s soccer program benefits from Geneseo Youth Soccer, which provides a strong foundation for young players. The teams are supported by generous boosters, and by partnering with the Seth Ernst Soccer Slam, funds are raised annually for a good cause that also shines a light on the sport in general.
Maple Leaf soccer teams also train in the Geneseo Foundation Activity Center, located steps from the high school’s north doors. The 40,000-square-foot fieldhouse features an expansive weight room and is staffed by a full-time strength and conditioning coach.
