To recognize the outstanding efforts of the nearly 6,000 elected school board members throughout the state, November 15 of each year is designated as "School Board Members Day" in Illinois.
Geneseo Community Unit School District #228’s Board of Education consists of Barry Snodgrass (President), Kane Causemaker (Vice President), Diane Olson (Secretary), Kyle Ganson, Jackie Mickley, Julie Robinson and Karen Urick.
“Geneseo is blessed to have a Board of Education that demonstrates Teach-Learn-Care of the highest order by the decisions it makes for the betterment of kids and our district,” stated Dr. Adam Brumbaugh, Superintendent. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with them to move the district forward with initiatives such as Geneseo High School’s new Career and Technical Education Center that will have a positive impact on our community for years to come. They truly are servant leaders.”
School board members are volunteers serving as advocates striving for quality education opportunities for every student. They act as front-line advocates providing a local voice for the community, a vision for the district, and a pathway to success for our students.
The Board of Education acts to safeguard two of our community’s most precious resources – our children and tax dollars – while striving to create the best education environment possible with the resources available.
Thank you, District #228 school board members!
