The Geneseo High School boys’ and girls’ tennis teams, along with the Geneseo Community Tennis Association and United States Tennis Association, will host a National Tennis Night Out at the GHS tennis courts (700 N. State St.) on Friday, May 5 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The event is free and will feature interactive tennis activities, games and more for children between the ages of kindergarten and 8th grade.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn more about the game of tennis,” said GHS tennis coach Kevin Reed, who teaches physical education and health at Geneseo Middle School. “Whether it’s your first time on the court or you play regularly, we welcome you to come out and play tennis.”
The event is being held in conjunction with National Tennis Month. Throughout May, the USTA is hosting free or low-cost tennis events around the Midwest for kids and adults. If you don’t have a racquet, one will be provided.
