The most recent winter storm warning predicts that Geneseo will receive 11-15 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. Therefore, Geneseo CUSD 228 will be closed on Tuesday, Jan 9. Please plan accordingly and stay safe.
Our Annual Middle School mid-season wrestling tournament was a huge success. GMS took 3rd place and lots of our boys and girls placed in the top 6 in the weight class. Well done GMS Leafs!

GMS 7th grade student, Hunter Hoover, was presented with a Maple Leaf Medallion by Mr. O'Dell recently. He was nominated by Mr. Reyes for being a fantastic teammate and leader in Lego League this year displaying TEACH - LEARN - CARE to his teammates, sponsors, classmates, and teachers each day. 7th and 8th grade bands and choirs welcomed a packed house Concert Hall today for a very merry GMS Holiday Concert. Thanks to our directors Ms. Croft, Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Kotovsky, sound and lights Mr. Lord, and to all parents and grandparents for your incredible time and support.

On Saturday, November 18th, GMS hosted the first ever Geneseo Middle School Honor Band Festival. There were 86 students representing 15 different schools at the event. Students began rehearsing at 9:00 am and performed a concert at 4:00 pm. The guest conductor for the day was Mr. Chip De Stefano, band director at McCracken Middle School in Skokie, IL. He and the students worked hard all day and their performance was outstanding! We are looking forward to making this an annual event, hosted in our amazing fine arts facilities at GHS. Congratulations to ALL of our GMS students who were selected and thank you to Mrs. Hawkins, Mrs. Kotovsky, and GHS band members for organizing and hosting the event.

GMS 8th grade students were able to get a sneak preview of their class options next year when GHS students and teachers visited GMS this week for the "GHS Elective Fair" organized by Mrs. Feely and Mrs. Reed. It was FANTASTIC for students to see and hear about their future options with pre-registration just a couple months away for the Class of 2028!!!
