Hey GMS! It’s time to put your money where your laughs are!Starting today, you’ll have the chance to donate money to see your favorite teacher take the ICE COLD plunge! The teacher with the MOST money by the end of the fundraiser will get drenched in freezing water—right in front of the whole school! Our brave contestants are: Mrs. Britt, Mr. Monier, Mr. Puls, Mrs. Miller, Mr. Matthew, Mrs. Gillespie, Mrs. Atwell, Mrs. Strehlo, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. O’Dell. Jars for each teacher will be set up in the cafeteria during lunch, so bring in your donations and cast your vote with your cash! Every penny counts—literally! The teacher with the most money by Friday 3/14 will take the icy bath! All donations go toward Special Olympics, so let’s have some fun and support a great cause! Let the competition begin!
The Geneseo Middle School Swim team has competed in 2 meets so far. Their first meet was in Morrison where swimmers got the feel for how fast a middle school meet runs! Our experienced swimmers Henry Pratt, Lucy Walck, Xander Soukup, Rykken Schweitzer, Brooke Herington, Eli Natario were a great support showing our new swimmers Payton Smith, Ethan and Sienna Temperley, Kinley Lenth the ropes and getting everyone where they needed to be! Last week we swam in Moline against Rock Island and Moline schools. Our swimmers swam faster than before and won a lot of events! Tuesday we are off to Morrison once again to compete against Rock Island and Morrison.
Attention Contig Club: We had 16 teams enter the Contig Club bracket and half have been eliminated after some close, exciting matches, including one that went to overtime! We will be playing the next round, the ELITE 8, this Wednesday in Mrs. Wagner's room. Please check the bulletin board to see what team you will be playing and who is on that team to make organizing Wednesday smoother. Good luck to the 8 remaining teams!
Students interested in joining Geneseo Youth Baseball and Softball may pick up registration information at the middle school office window.
The Geneseo Library Writing Club is meeting this today, at the Geneseo Library from 3:30-4:30. Fourth-grade students and up are welcome! This is earlier in the month than usual.
