Attention 6th Graders: March is right around the corner! That means March Madness! And no, we are not talking about the NCAA tournament. We are talking about Contig Club! Next Wednesday, we will begin our first tournament in Mrs. Wagner's room at 7:40. If you wish to be in the tournament, on a loose-leaf paper, write your TEAM name at the top and the first and last name of each member of that team. You can have a team of one, two, three, or four people. Names are due by the end of the day Friday. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Monier.

Today is the last day to donate to the American Heart Challenge!  Here’s today’s health fact, brought to you by the American Heart Challenge:  There are two simple steps to saving a life with Hands-Only CPR that can help save a life: 1. Call 9-1-1 and 2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

Congratulations to our February Student Athletes of the month: Kasen Mosier & Olivia Ruby. Your coaches and teachers recognize all your hard work and effort on the team and in class! Everyone at GMS is proud of you!  Way to go!

The 6th and 7th grade Scholastic Bowl Team defeated Annawan last night 95-60, and the 8th grade team won 125-40. Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team on a great season full of arduous toss up and bonus questions. We are very proud of your sportsmanship, knowledge and composure!

Attention Hoops Fans: Last night was the end to our incredible girls basketball season. Ours Bs hit the road for their last game and they went out with a bang! 7Bs won, moving their record to an impressive 5-3 finish! 8Bs were fierce from start-to-finish in their last game wearing a GMS jersey on their way to a 31-7 domination. Here at home, thank you to everyone who came out to support our Leafs. The gym was packed and rowdy creating a home court advantage and giving our girls an awesome environment to play in. Students and staff members, the girls noticed you and appreciated you! As far as the games, it was mission accomplished! The 7A girls capped off an incredible 16-0 season with a tough, gritty performance winning 40-32 to become the first EVER GMS boys or girls team to finish a season UNDEFEATED. The 8s, wearing the GMS jersey for their last time, captured another milestone of their own as well. With their dominant win over Glenview, our 8As became the first EVER GMS boys or girls team to win the conference championship in back-to-back years! They had a target on their backs the entire year and they delivered. They embraced the challenge and they succeeded. In addition, our 7As and 8As became the first EVER boys or girls teams to win both the 7th and 8th grade conference championship in the same year. To all of the 7s and 8s, stay hungry! Keep working and keep adding to your milestones! We wish you the best of luck! The girls teams also want to wish the state wrestlers and upcoming track and field athletes the best of luck in their seasons as well. Go Leafs!
