WQAD is sponsoring their annual My Favorite Teacher Contest. If you would like to nominate a current or past favorite teacher, pick up an information packet at the middle school office window. The entry deadline is tomorrow.

The High School boys basketball team invites everyone to their game this Friday for autograph night. The Sophomore game starts at 5:30 pm and the varsity at 7:30 pm.  Students will be able to sit in the “Leaf Pile” right behind the home team bench.

LET IT SNOW!  Please help GMS motivate this weekend's snow!  Your homeroom has snowballs for you to color and write your favorite positive quote or phrase, it can be one YOU say to friends OR you can use a quote from a positive influence in your life! For example "The sun will come up tomorrow!" by Annie!  Ask your homeroom and study hall teachers or find Mrs. Miller! Thank you Mr. Eaker for making the snowballs for us!

Great job to the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Scholastic Bowl Teams, who competed against Orion Middle School last night. The 6th and 7th grade team won with a score of 155-145, and the 8th grade team lost a nailbiter at the very end of the match, with a score of 185-180. It was a hard fought battle with many tough toss up questions answered correctly, and proved to be a highly competitive matchup.

Congratulations to our January Student Athletes of the month!  Myleigh Thinglum and JW Seals! Your coaches and teachers recognize all your hard work and effort on the team and in class! Everyone at GMS is proud of you!  Way to go!

Attention students and staff: The Life Skills students and staff pick up the recycling from all classrooms on Wednesdays after lunch.  We are making a request that would make our job easier and healthier. Absolutely NO tissues and paper towels- YUCK- don't spread your germs, please put these things in the garbage. No pens and pencils- if they don't work, trash them.  They can't be turned into other products.  No wrappers- from gum, Jolly Ranchers, granola bars. You get it!!!  Lastly, mostly for the grown-ups listening- if you put shipping or food boxes in your recycling, please flatten them or set them aside so we can flatten them.  We don't mind as long as we don't dig it out of the larger bins after the fact.  Please help remind each other to follow these basic guidelines!  We really appreciate it!
