Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys. Hammond-Henry Hospital is excited to be providing Geneseo Middle School student/athletes with winter speed, agility, strength and conditioning programs. Our goal with this program is to improve athletic performance as well as decrease your chances for injury. Student-athletes can expect to see improvements in first step quickness, jumping ability, strength, speed, agility, explosive power, conditioning and overall improvement in movement efficiency. The Winter Summit sessions have started this week. Our next session is Wednesday. There is still room to sign up. Information for the Winter Summit can be found at the Geneseo Park district website.
Attention NFL Pick Em: There has been A LOT of football that has happened since our last update. Here is the latest. Our Week 16 champion was Colton Kies scoring 123 points. Way to go Colton! Our Week 17 champion was Eben VonMotz. He scored 128 points. Great picking, Eben. Tomorrow, we will have our Week 18 winner AND our overall season champion announced. I wonder what free lunch the champion is going to pick? Also, all 6th graders, we will start a new NFL Playoff Pick Em contest week. The standings will reset with everyone at 0 points. So feel free to give it a try even if you weren't doing the regular season contest. There won't be any weekly winners, just one overall Playoff Winner. Whoever that playoff winner is will get to pick a free lunch of their choice from somewhere in Geneseo. So if you're in the mood for some Culver's, or maybe you're thinking fresh and want some Subway, or maybe the golden arches is your choice, regardless, be sure to get your Playoff Pick Em sheet turned in by the end of the day Friday to give yourself a chance at the Playoff Prize! Good luck!
Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 2 January Students of the Month: Ella Versluis, Owen Harris, and Rylie Lopez. These students are prepared, respectful, involved, dependable and enthusiastic and the 8th grade teachers appreciate their efforts. Keep up the great work!
