Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 2 Bears October Students of the Month: Jocelyn Russelburg, Novak Ryerson, and Cole Anderson.  These students are kind, engaged, accountable, respectful and show self control, and the 8th grade teachers appreciate their efforts.  Keep up the great work!

Attention NFL Pick Em: Scores were much better in Week 4 with only 4 upsets and the best belong to Eben Von Motz. Congrats Eben on winning Week 4 with your 98 points! Week 5 sheets are due by the end of the day today. Good luck!

The 8th Grade Football team has been working really hard and improving each week and it showed last night against John Deere. The boys played their best game of the season and beat John Deere 24 to 0.

The GMS Cross Country team locked in at the Heartland Conference Championship last night and brought home a lot of hardware!  The girls varsity team gave it everything they had and came home with the conference runner up trophy!  Faith Kuster finished in 8th place, Annika Brumbaugh finished in 4th place and Charlize Wachtel was the conference runner up.  The girls couldn't have gotten 2nd place as a team without the help of Scarlett Sunstrom, Tylaiha Medina, Hailey Olson and Genevieve Talley!   Amazing job girls, way to achieve your goal!

The boys varsity team had their sights set on the championship and it was a tough battle to the very end.  With only 6 points separating the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, Geneseo came out on top as Heartland Conference Champions!  Finishing in the top 10 was Kellan Courtright in 10th place, Kyle Wirth in 9th place and Will Ehlert in 4th place.  The boys wouldn't have taken home the gold without the efforts of Henry Woodward, Declan Gillespie, William Davis and Hunter Olson.

In the open races, we had several medalists as well. In the girls race, Emily Hayes took home 10th place, and in the boys race, Adler VanOpdorp took 10th place and Novak Ryerson was the conference runner up.  The Leafs next compete at the IESA Sectional meet in Rockford on Saturday, October 12th.  Go Geneseo!
