On Friday, September 20, the GMS library will be hosting a Teen Read Cafe in the library before school. Because space is limited, you must pick up a reserve ticket in the library ahead of time to be part of our Freedom to Read celebration. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Sager for more details.

It was back to back hilly courses for the cross country team, but they took the challenge in stride as they competed at the Panther Invite in Prophetstown yesterday.  This was a smaller meet with no team awards, but our athletes still shined!  In the girls race, Annika Brumbaugh took 6th place and Charlize Wachtel sped to the finish line as the girls champion!  On the boys side, William Davis took 10th place, Henry Woodward finished in 9th, Declan Gillespie finished in 7th place and Kyle Wirth raced to a runner up finish in 2nd place.  Great job to all our athletes on another hilly meet in the heat!  The Leafs next compete a week from today at the Rock Island Invite at Sunset Marina.

Last night the GMS softball team ended their season with a 6-4 loss to the Dunlap Panthers in the Regional Championship game.   Kinley Smith went 3 for 3 last night.  Aubrey Skinner was awarded the Sportsmanship Pin after the game.  She was selected by the umpires for her great attitude and sportsmanship during the game.
