On Friday, September 20, the GMS library will be hosting a Teen Read Cafe in the library before school. Because space is limited, you must pick up a reserve ticket in the library ahead of time to be part of our Freedom to Read celebration. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Sager for more details.

HOP HOP HOP on down to the hall between 8th grade and the library in the coming weeks to see the fantastically decorated frogs hopping into GMS! Continue to color frogs in your homeroom and/or study halls! GMS is full of creative fun students, be unapologetically you! Make them colorful and unique! Bring some fun to the halls of GMS! Don't know what I am talking about? Ask your homeroom teacher about them!

The Geneseo Library Writing Club is meeting today at the Geneseo Public Library from 3:30-4:30. Fourth-grade students and up are welcome!

It was another hot and humid day for the cross country team, but they conquered the hills with some great times last night at the Pioneer Invite.  The girls team took 4th place overall, with Charlize Wachtel finishing in 3rd place and Annika Brumbaugh finishing in 8th place.  The boys team won the meet with an impressive performance!  Our 5 fastest boys all placed in the top 20!  Kyle Wirth finished in 3rd place and Kellan Courtright finished in 7th, with Will Ehlert, Henry Woodward and Declan Gillespie rounding out the top places.  The team competes again today at the Panther Invite in Prophetstown.  Go Leafs!

The 7th grade Whites volleyball team played hard against Riverdale at home last night. They lost the first two sets, but came back and won the third. Top servers were Ruby Air, Alivia Gaines, and Kami Nordstrom.

Last night, the 8th grade whites volleyball team faced a tough Riverdale team and fell short in a competitive match. Despite their best efforts, the team couldn’t overcome Riverdale’s precise ball placement and powerful attacks.  Shout out to Emma Minnaert, who stood out as the top server of the night, and Brynn Kinney, who led the team with her strong attacks.  Come show your support for the girls on Wednesday night at home as they take on Rock Falls!

Coming in with a HUGE win against Washington last night, the 7th grade greens volleyball team came together and fought for the win! We gave it everything we had! Aislyn Kane and Norah Kuddes came in with awesome ace serves to lead us, following close behind! Other Aces were Joecelyn, Jayla and Mylee! We had some great kills as a team!  Lots of hustle! Let's keep it rolling in Dixon on Wednesday!

Congrats to the 8th grade greens volleyball team last night that won in three against Washington. Emma Hofer led the team with 9 aces, and 22 assists. Charley Courson led the team with 7 attacks. Great job, and good luck in Dixon tomorrow night ladies!

The first GMS yearbook staff meeting is today, Tuesday, after school until 4:30pm.  Please meet in the GMS library.
