Are you a responsible and organized person who likes to take pictures of all your friends?  Do you want to help create this year's GMS yearbook, and capture all of the memories of the school year?  We are looking for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for our GMS yearbook staff.  Pick up an application in the main office and return it by next Thursday, September 7th.  Don't wait, we need your help to create this amazing book of memories.  Anyone interested should apply!

GMS Picture Day is next Wednesday, Sept 6 during your PE class.  You will receive information on picture day from Photographic Arts on how to order your photos online. 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be holding our first meeting of the year on Tuesday Sept. 5th at 7:35 in the small gym. All are welcome to attend - come check it out! If you have any questions ask Mrs. Haars or Mrs. Wilshusen.

Student Council applications are due to your first period teacher today. Anyone running in their classroom election should be ready to give a short candidate speech in their class next Tuesday. Elections will take place in classes September 5-7.  

The 2023 GMS Speech Team is open to all  6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.   If you are interested, please attend one of these meetings:

Tues. Sept. 5th 3:15 – 4 pm in the Large Group Room

OR Wed. Sept. 6th 7:30 - 8 am in the Library 

*If you can’t attend either, see Mrs. VanOpdorp in Room 709 for a permission slip.  Contest this year is in Monmouth on Saturday, November 11th, so you must have this date available.  We hope to see you at a meeting next week!

The GMS Lego League team will meet on Wednesdays at 3:10 in Mr. Reyes' room, 603.  Participants should check their school email and Google Classroom for more information.

The Sterling Golden Warriors came to town for the first home game of the volleyball season last evening.  Despite the 7th  grade greens fighting hard , they came away with a loss.  Top server of the game was Emma Hofer.  A big thanks to all the fans who came out to cheer us on.
