We are looking for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for our GMS yearbook staff. Pick up an application in the main office and return it by next Thursday, September 7th. 7th and 8th graders who want to run in their first hour Student Council elections next week are reminded to have their application forms turned into their first period teacher by Friday.

The 8th grade football team played Edison last night. Geneseo jumped out to an early lead and never let Edison back in the game. Everyone on the team contributed to the victory. The boys are eager to get back to work today to start preparing for Glenview.
The 8th grade Whites volleyball team won 2 games and lost 2 at Riverdale last night. The top server was Penny Kline.
Last night the GMS XC team kicked off their season at Empire Park for the Moline Invite. The girls took home the team championship & bested the next team by 14 points! Medaling for the girls varsity team were Evy DeBaene (5th), Charlize Wachtel (6th), and Jacey Gehl (9th). In the open girls race, Ella Taylor finished 10th. Great job ladies!
The boys team took 2nd place as a team to a very talented Moline Wilson team. Medaling for the boys varsity team were Micah Nicke (2nd) and Kael McCord (5th). In the open boys race, Kain Stroud finished 6th and Mark Shoemaker finished 9th. Great job boys! The Leafs will compete on Friday in Bettendorf and have a home meet next Wednesday - come out and support if you’re able to!
