National School Counseling Week is being celebrated from Feb. 6-10 in Geneseo’s schools and across the nation to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different because of what school counselors do.
“School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills,” said Jill Cook, executive director of the American School Counselor Association. “School counseling programs help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”
We are blessed to have great school counselors in our schools. Please join us in celebrating the work they do on behalf of our students every day.
