Student Council President Petitions:
Petitions for the 2025-26 Student Council President are now available. Candidates must be a current Junior with one year of Student Council experience. Candidates must acquire 50 signatures and petitions are due by Thursday, April 3. Depending on the number of candidates, there will be one week to campaign followed by an All-School election. See Mrs. Laingen in Room 19 or Mrs. Brewer in Room 26 to pick up a petition.
Midwest Technical Institute:
On Wednesday, April 2 Midwest Technical Institute will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with Midwest Technical Institute, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Yearbooks:
Today is the LAST day to order a copy of the yearbook. Lists are outside of Mrs. Anton (17) and Mrs. Brewer (26) rooms to see if you have ordered or find out how to order.
April Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Tuesday, April 1st. Students will receive ineligibility notices. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of C- or higher in all classes
- No 1st Semester 2024 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
Attention Sophomores & Juniors:
Are you a leader? Do you want to make a difference at Geneseo High School? If you answered yes to either of those questions then you should join Link Crew! Link Crew helps the incoming Freshman Class transition to high school. There is an informational meeting tomorrow morning at 7:40 AM in the Theatre about the Link Crew program and how to apply to become a member. If you cannot attend the meeting that is okay! Just find a Link Crew flyer around the building, scan the QR Code, and fill out the Google Form to apply. All applications must be received by Friday, April 11th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Snook or Mrs. Degarmo. Also, current Link Crew members must reapply for next school year!
Environmental Club:
The Environmental Club is ready for spring! Please join us in the cafeteria commons tomorrow morning at 7:35 to plan our next canal clean-up event. We are looking for members to join our group as the weather warms up.
Attention Seniors:
This is a reminder that Grad Speeches are due in the Front Office by 3:00 p.m. today.
Prom Guest Forms:
Prom Guest forms for Junior and Senior students are now available outside the Assistant Principal's Office. Please be sure it is complete prior to turning it in, forms not completed will not be approved by Administration. The completed guest form must be received in the Assistant Principal's Office no later than Friday, April 11th without exception.
Cheer Tryouts:
It’s time for GHS Cheer tryouts! Tryouts are April 8th thru 11th. Please fill out forms by April 2nd. For those that make the squad there will be a mandatory parent/guardian and cheerleader meeting on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00 pm in the GHS Theatre. Good luck! Silver Cord Opportunity – Woodridge:
If you have 6th or 7th early release, Woodridge is looking for some students who would be interested in visiting with residents to help with activities and play Bingo during 6th & 7th period. If you are interested, contact Jennifer at 309-944-9600. To earn Silver Cord hours, be sure to have your Silver Cord timesheet filled out so the supervisor can sign when you volunteer.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
There is a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities at the Park District posted on the GHS Announcements bulletin board in the main hall. Hours, position details, and contact information is included. To earn Silver Cord hours, be sure to have your Silver Cord timesheet filled out so the supervisor can sign when you volunteer.
