Congratulations FFA Horse Judging Team:
The FFA Horse Judging team came home as STATE CHAMPIONS on Friday! Congratulations to our Horse Judging - Reasons Team for placing 1st in their division at the State FFA Career Development Event on Friday. Team members include: Dawsyn McDonald - 2nd overall, Annabelle Betcher - 3rd overall, Bailey Koning - 7th overall, and Jacey Gehl. Another congratulations to our Non-Reasons Team for placing 2nd in their division! Team members include: Kali Herberg, Maycie Sims, Hannah Wildemuth, and Brinnley Coppejans.
Blood Drive:
Sign up to save a life, or better yet, save three. Did you know that each blood donation saves three lives? The annual blood drive will be held on Thursday, February 27, in the big gym. Sign up now with any Student Council member or see the flyers hanging around the school. Donors are asked to sign-up with the QR code and choose their own appointment time. You must be over 16 years old to donate, in addition, 16-year-olds are required to have a signed parent consent form from Impact Life. For further information see Mrs. Laingen or Mrs. Brewer.
Butterbraid Orders:
Attention Sophomore Class: Your Butterbraid orders are due on February 12th. You may drop them off before or after school on Tuesday or Wednesday at a table near the Front Office. Drop off is available 7:35 a.m. - 7:55 a.m. and again 3:05 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. It is extremely important that you turn in your orders on one of these days so we can get them filled.
Prom Invitation Contest:
Calling all Juniors! Please enter the Prom Invitation Design Contest. Your design must include the City of Stars theme. Entries must be submitted to Mrs. Degarmo by Monday, Feb 17th at 3:00 PM. The contest winner will receive a free prom ticket and a gift card.
Soccer Slam:
Due to GetMeRegistered not being open until after 6:00 PM yesterday, Geneseo High School players have until midnight on Tuesday, February 11th to get those teams - Men, Women, or Co-Ed signed up for the Love of the Game! All teams will play on Sunday, March 2nd. You don't have to play soccer to get a team together and have some fun!

Grand Canyon University:
Grand Canyon University will be visiting Geneseo High School today during WIN. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Midwest Technical Institute:
On Wednesday, February 12th, Midwest Technical Institute will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with Midwest Technical Institute, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Boys Tennis:
If you are going out for Boys Tennis in the Spring, please sign up with Mr. Plant in room 7, or at open gym tennis on Monday the 10th or 17th at 7:30 PM in the Facility.
Army National Guard Visit:
On Tuesday, February 11th, the Army National Guard will be visiting Geneseo High School during 6th period. If you are interested in meeting with the Army National Guard, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Foreign Language Club:
Our next meeting is Monday, February 10th at 3:00 PM in room 3. We will be making Spanish Valentines! Hope to see you there!
Silver Cord Opportunity – Woodridge:
If you have 6th or 7th early release, Woodridge is looking for some students who would be interested in visiting with residents to help with activities and play Bingo during 6th & 7th period. If you are interested, contact Jennifer at 309-944-9600. To earn Silver Cord hours, be sure to have your Silver Cord timesheet filled out so the supervisor can sign when you volunteer.

Northside is hosting a Family Math Night on February 25th and is looking for student volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, information is posted on the GHS Announcements bulletin board in the main hall.
