Superintendent Brumbaugh to step down after 2024-25 school year

Geneseo’s Board of Education on Thursday formally accepted the resignation of Dr. Adam Brumbaugh, effective June 30, 2025. Brumbaugh has served as the district’s superintendent since 2018.

“It’s been a great pleasure to work with Dr. Brumbaugh over the years and we very much appreciate the leadership he has provided for our school district,” said Board of Education President Barry Snodgrass. “He made a point of advocating for everyone, and did so in a calm, conscious way. He will be missed, and we wish him and his family well as they begin a new chapter in their lives.”

Brumbaugh shared a letter with the Board of Education announcing his plans.

“I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve Geneseo for the past seven years,” he wrote. “It has been a wonderful experience for my family and I. ... I know you will have no shortage of outstanding candidates as Geneseo is a destination district.”

Brumbaugh will move on to Germantown Hills School District #69, which hired him as superintendent earlier this week.

“We will now begin what will be a thorough search for the next superintendent,” stated Snodgrass. “We are confident that we will find another outstanding leader to oversee our great district.”

Information about that process will be shared on GeneseoSchools.org and the district’s social media accounts at later dates as progress is made.
