Volleyball Fan Bus:

We will be offering a fan bus for students to ride to Ottawa on Tuesday for the girls volleyball sectional.  Cost for the ride is $10.  Bus leaves at 4:15 p.m. from the GHS front doors.  You will still need to purchase a ticket to get into the game ($8 at game or online).  Sign ups are in the Athletic Office now.  If you want to ride you must sign up by the end of the day on Monday.  You must pay at the time you sign up.  You may not sign anyone else up but yourself.

Attention Students & Staff:

Do you have a Veteran in your life?  If you do, please invite them to our Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 11th.  Invitations are available in the Front Office for you to pick up.

Girl Up Club:

There will be a Girl Up meeting on Wednesday, November 6th at 7:35 a.m. in room 2.

Weekly Polls:

Who should win the 2024 election? Should it be Charlie Brown or Bluey or perhaps Elsa?  Make sure to watch the TV outside the Counseling Office and scan the QR code to participate in our weekly polls!

Robotics Pins:

Support your Robotics Team this Wednesday after school by buying a pin for only one dollar!  They feature original art by one of our Seniors.  Find the team near the front doors!

Veterans Day:

Veterans Day is just around the corner. GHS is remembering Veterans Day in TWO WAYS this year – by honoring and taking action!

Honoring:  We’re holding an all-school assembly with local veterans as guests on Monday, November 11. We want all students to be able to participate because nearly everyone, students and staff alike, is connected to a veteran in some way.

Taking Action: We’re hosting “Hat Days” this week! Students and teachers are encouraged to wear hats Monday through Friday, paying a dollar each day to do so! Money will be collected each day in your first hour.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to Quad Cities Veterans Outreach Center since they serve local veterans in multiple ways.

Senior Hall of Fame Voting:

Seniors - Hall of Fame (superlative) voting is open between now and November 5th. To participate in nominating your peers, you can scan the QR code outside of Mrs. Brewer or Mrs. Anton’s doors OR check your email for the Google Form. Be sure to read the information at the top of the Google Form prior to nominating your peers.

Silver Cord Opportunity – First Methodist Church:

It is that time of year for the Victorian Walk and Christmas meal at First Methodist Church.  They are looking for volunteers to serve food, be monitors, kitchen help, etc.  If you could spare a couple of hours that evening it lasts from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.  Even if it's just 1 or 2 hours, any help is appreciated.  The deadline to sign up to help is November 18th.  If you are interested in volunteering, contact Nancy DeFauw at 309-507-0997 or email her at defauwfarm5@gmail.com

Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:

If you are interested in volunteering at the Park District, there are volunteer opportunities and contact information listed on the announcements bulletin board in the main hall.  Silver Cord timesheets can be found on the GHS website or in the Front Office.
