Foreign Language Club:
Our next meeting is Thursday, September 26th at 3:00 p.m. in room 3. We will be learning how to make tissue paper flowers. Bring a friend, and hope to see you there!
Homecoming Guest Forms:
Homecoming guest forms are available in the bin outside the Assistant Principals' office, students are allowed 1 approved guest. Please read through the form and be sure it is complete and all signatures are obtained prior to submitting the form. Forms must be turned in no later than this Friday, September 27th, there will not be any exceptions to this final date.
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Visit:
On Friday, September 27th, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with the University of Illinois, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
October Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Tuesday, October 1st. Students will receive ineligibility notices on Friday, September 27th and Monday, September 30th. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of D+ or higher in all classes
- No 2nd Semester 2024 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
JV Scholastic Bowl:
Attention Freshmen and Sophomores: Do your friends ever ask you, “Wow, how do you know all this stuff?” Join the JV Scholastic Bowl Team and compete against other schools in National Academic Quiz Tournaments! Attend the informational meeting in WIN, this Friday, in the Cafeteria Commons - look for Mrs. Young.
Gray Matters:
There will be a Gray Matters Meeting during WIN on Friday. Everyone is welcome!
Special Olympics Unified Partners:
We are looking for individuals to partner with our Special Olympics athletes for a Unified Bowling experience. If you have participated in the past or are new and want to join, please reach out to Megan VerStraete in the Life Skills 2 classroom.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
If you are interested in volunteering at the Park District, there are volunteer opportunities and contact information listed on the announcements bulletin board in the main hall. Silver Cord timesheets can be found on the GHS website or in the Front Office.
