Senior Homecoming Court Candidates:
A reminder to all Senior Homecoming Court candidates, pictures are scheduled for tomorrow morning (Wednesday, Sept 25th) at 7:40 a.m. in the Library Lobby. Please be on time and come nicely dressed. See Mrs. Laingen or Mrs. Brewer with any questions.
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Visit:
On Friday, September 27th, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with the University of Illinois, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
October Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Tuesday, October 1st. Students will receive ineligibility notices on Friday, September 27th and Monday, September 30th. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of D+ or higher in all classes
- No 2nd Semester 2024 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
JV Scholastic Bowl:
Attention Freshmen and Sophomores: Do your friends ever ask you, “Wow, how do you know all this stuff?” Join the JV Scholastic Bowl Team and compete against other schools in National Academic Quiz Tournaments! Attend the informational meeting in WIN, this Friday, in the Cafeteria Commons - look for Mrs. Young.
Varsity Scholastic Bowl:
Any Juniors or Seniors interested in joining the Varsity Scholastic Bowl team should attend a meeting in Room 4 at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24. If you cannot attend this meeting, please stop in to see Mrs. Brossman in Room 4 for more information.
Monmouth College Visit:
Monmouth College will be visiting Geneseo High School today during 7th period. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Gray Matters:
There will be a Gray Matters Meeting during WIN on Friday. Everyone is welcome!
Special Olympics Unified Partners:
We are looking for individuals to partner with our Special Olympics athletes for a Unified Bowling experience. If you have participated in the past or are new and want to join, please reach out to Megan VerStraete in the Life Skills 2 classroom.
Homecoming Guest Forms:
Homecoming guest forms are available in the bin outside the Assistant Principals' office, students are allowed 1 approved guest. Please read through the form and be sure it is complete and all signatures are obtained prior to submitting the form. Forms must be turned in no later than Friday, September 27th, there will not be any exceptions to this final date.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
If you are interested in volunteering at the Park District, there are volunteer opportunities and contact information listed on the announcements bulletin board in the main hall. Silver Cord timesheets can be found on the GHS website or in the Front Office.
