Starbooks Café:
All GHS readers are invited to our first Starbooks Cafe of the year in the library Tuesday morning before school. You bring book suggestions for others to read or to add to our library, and we will provide you with a hot beverage. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. VanVooren if you have any questions.
Freshman Float Meeting:
Attention Freshman, join us for a float design meeting on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:35 am. The meeting will be in Mrs. Laingen’s room, Room 19, which is upstairs past the health room. We need your ideas as we plan the best homecoming float ever!!
Junior Float Meeting:
Attention Juniors! There will be another Homecoming Float Design Meeting on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:35 AM in Mrs. Degarmo's room, room 27. All Juniors are welcome! We hope to see you there!
Aviation Club:
There will be an Aviation Club meeting this Sunday at the Geneseo Airport at 4:00 p.m. There will be a Young Eagle Flight available for any student interested in going on a flight around Geneseo! Contact Mr. Bess for more information!
Monmouth College Visit:
On Tuesday, September 24th, Monmouth College will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th period. If you are interested in meeting with Monmouth College, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Greece Meeting Reminder:
Anyone interested in learning more about the Greece trip taking place in June of 2025, there will be an informational meeting this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Mrs. Litton’s room, room 20. Hope to see you there!
Silver Cord Opportunity – Maple Leaf Classic and Harvest Fest:
If you’re looking for more silver cord hours, please consider volunteering this weekend at the Maple Leaf Classic or Harvest Fest. We are still in need of many volunteers to make this weekend a success. Please consider helping out. You can find the student signup link at the GPAC website, geneseoarts.com.
College 101 Group:
Are you planning on attending college next year, but still have questions? Check out the College 101 group! This group is for seniors who want more information about all things college. Deciding where to apply, picking the right school, how to pay and more! This group will meet in Room 35 every Wednesday, beginning September 25, during WIN for about 8 weeks. If you are interested, please stop by the counseling office to sign up and get a pass, the deadline is today.
Boys and Girls Bowling:
Boys and Girls interested in the Bowling teams for the Winter Season should stop by the Commons today between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m. Coaches will be available for sign-ups as well as questions.
Special Olympics Unified Partners:
We are looking for individuals to partner with our Special Olympics athletes for a Unified Bowling experience. If you have participated in the past or are new and want to join, please reach out to Megan VerStraete in the Life Skills 2 classroom.
Homecoming Guest Forms:
Homecoming guest forms are available in the bin outside the Assistant Principals' office, students are allowed 1 approved guest. Please read through the form and be sure it is complete and all signatures are obtained prior to submitting the form. Forms must be turned in no later than Friday, September 27th, there will not be any exceptions to this final date.
Silver Cord Opportunity – GMS Concessions:
GMS is in need of students to work their volleyball concessions. This qualifies for Silver Cord hours, the student would just have to fill out the Silver Cord timesheet and have the concession supervisor sign off on it. You would be working from 3:30 p.m. until approximately 5:30 p.m. All dates are listed on the GHS Announcements Board in the main hall. If you are interested, please contact Darin Pardoe at dpardoe@geneseoschools.org If you have any questions, please stop by the GHS Front Office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
If you are interested in volunteering at the Park District, there are volunteer opportunities and contact information listed on the announcements bulletin board in the main hall. Silver Cord timesheets can be found on the GHS website or in the Front Office.
