Class Meetings:
There will be Class Meetings during WIN on Wednesday September 11th. All students must attend the meeting. Students should go to their WIN first for attendance and then go with their teacher to the Class Meeting to discuss Homecoming.

Fall Play:
There will be a meeting for all students who signed up to work on one or more crews for the fall play, on Wednesday, from 3:15 to 4:30 PM the Theatre.
University of Northern Iowa:
On Wednesday, September 11th the University of Northern Iowa will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th period. If you are interested in meeting with the University of Northern Iowa, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Environmental Club:
The Geneseo Environmental Club will begin doing some pretty awesome stuff soon. The club will meet on Tuesday, September 10th at 7:30 a.m. in Room 30. We meet on Tuesday mornings and do projects in the community on Sunday afternoons. Please join us for discussion, connection, and stewardship.
NMSQT:
The counseling department is hosting sign-ups for the NMSQT. The NMSQT is a competitive exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program for Juniors only. The exam will be held on Wednesday, October 16th. It is $18 to take the test and payment is due at time of registration. Money and registration are due by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 10th.
Key Club:
Key Club is having its first meeting today from 7-8 pm in the Library Lobby. We will go over details regarding what Key Club is and discuss upcoming service projects. Bring a friend, and snacks will be provided!
Bradley University College Visit:
Bradley University will be visiting Geneseo High School today during 7th period. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Backpacks at Football:
Students, please remember that back packs are not allowed into home football games. If you arrive with a back pack, you will be asked to leave it under the bleachers or have a parent pick it up.
Special Olympics Unified Partners:
We are looking for individuals to partner with our Special Olympics athletes for a Unified Bowling experience. If you have participated in the past or are new and want to join, please reach out to Megan VerStraete in the Life Skills 2 classroom.
Homecoming Guest Forms:
Homecoming guest forms are available in the bin outside the Assistant Principals' office, students are allowed 1 approved guest. Please read through the form and be sure it is complete and all signatures are obtained prior to submitting the form. Forms must be turned in no later than Friday, September 27th, there will not be any exceptions to this final date.
Silver Cord Opportunity – GMS Concessions:
GMS is in need of students to work their volleyball concessions. This qualifies for Silver Cord hours, the student would just have to fill out the Silver Cord timesheet and have the concession supervisor sign off on it. You would be working from 3:30 p.m. until approximately 5:30 p.m. All dates are listed on the GHS Announcements Board in the main hall. If you are interested, please contact Darin Pardoe at dpardoe@geneseoschools.org If you have any questions, please stop by the GHS Front Office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
If you are interested in volunteering at the Park District, there are volunteer opportunities and contact information listed on the announcements bulletin board in the main hall. Silver Cord timesheets can be found on the GHS website or in the Front Office.
