Geneseo Community Unit School District #228 is recognizing its school nurses in conjunction with 2024 National School Nurse Day on May 8.
Since 1972, School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. It was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting.
Geneseo’s school nurses (pictured from left to right above) are Heidi Brumbaugh (Northside), Jessica Jansen (District Lead Nurse/Middle School), Sara Kreps (Millikin), Alysia Young (High School), and Joyce Dietrich (Southwest).
School nurses bridge healthcare and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
