Geneseo High School has again earned high national and metro-area rankings in 2024 Best High Schools, which U.S. News released this week.
According to the report, GHS is ranked 81st within Illinois out of 673 schools and 2,134th nationally out of 17,655 schools with an overall score of 87.91 out of 100.
In the fall, U.S. News ranked GHS as 96th among Illinois schools and 2,717th nationally. Regionally, GHS continues to rank second, trailing only Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf.
“Geneseo High School continues to build off of its strong foundation of academic and athletic excellence by adding more dual credit courses, more vocational opportunities, and more extracurricular activities each year,” stated Superintendent Dr. Adam Brumbaugh. “We are proud to be recognized for those efforts.”
By earning a national ranking in the top 40%, Geneseo High School maintains its status as a U.S.News Best High School.

The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best High Schools rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores on an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.
