Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Visit:

On Monday, February 26th, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will be visiting Geneseo High School during 6th period. If you are interested in meeting with them, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place. 

 

Seniors Open Campus Lunch:

The next Open Campus Lunch opportunity will be Friday, March 1st!

To qualify, you need to have a grade of D+ or higher in all classes and have no unserved discipline. Eligibility will be determined on Tuesday, February 27th. Eligibility notices will be distributed in the morning of Open Campus Lunch day, Friday, March 1st. Students who qualify will have additional time for lunch. If you receive a notice, please be sure to read it for your exact leaving and return times.

 

Butterbraid Money & Forms:

Attention Sophomores: Please continue to sell Butterbraids. Butterbraid money and forms will be collected on Friday, February 23rd before school. There will be a table set up near the office. All money and forms must be turned in on Monday, February 26th before school. There will be a table set up near the office again. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Bertelsen!


Silver Cord Opportunity:

Need Silver Cord Hours?  Volunteer this weekend at the 17th annual Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam!  https://signup.com/go/YVPNhT 

Then, be sure to check out our 5 GHS Men's teams on Saturday and the battle Sunday between our GHS Women! For the Love of the Game!!

 

Hat Day Friday:

Tomorrow is $1 hat day to celebrate National FFA Week. All proceeds will be donated to Agriculture in the Classroom. FFA members will be at each entrance of the school to collect money and give you a sticker. Stickers must be worn with your hat. We encourage all students and staff to participate!


Special Olympics Polar Plunge:

Respect is cool.... So come take the plunge for Special Olympics! We are looking for teams of 4 to take the Plunge on March 15th.  Minimum $5 per person, prizes awarded to the team with the best costume and most money raised.  Contact Sheila Puls or Megan VerStraete in Life Skills for any questions.


Character Crush Vote:

If you would like to vote in the library's Character Crush final survey this week, you can find the link on the library homepage or as a link from your ELA teacher. Prizes can be won by those who participate. You must vote by noon on Friday.

    

Silver Cord Opportunity:

Northside will be hosting a family math night on Tuesday, February 27th from 5:30 - 7:30.  Volunteers are needed.  Elementary students will be visiting a variety of stations promoting connection and mathematics.  The theme is “Carnival”.  If you are interested in volunteering please email Ashley Morey at  ashley.morey@geneseoschools.org

 

Blood Drive Sign-Up:

It’s not too late to sign up to donate blood. There are still 32 appointment times available. Check out the many posters around the school and choose your own appointment time by scanning the QR code. Each donation saves three lives. The drive will be held on Thursday, February 29, in the big gym. 16-year-olds are required to have a signed parent consent slip from the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.  For further information see Mrs. Laingen or Mrs. Brewer.
