5 Essentials Survey Today:

Attention Students:  Today you will be taking the 5 Essentials Survey in your WIN class.  All students and staff are required to take this survey.  There will be no Learning Centers today and no passing will be allowed during WIN.     

 

Debate Team:

Attention Students:  Get ready to unleash your inner wordsmith and conquer the art of persuasive arguments, as we proudly introduce our newest addition to the school's extracurricular lineup: the Debate Team! Keep an eye on your emails for an important Google Form survey, where you can share your availability for meetings and join us in shaping the future of public speaking. 

 

Dance Marathon 3:

Don’t forget to sign up for Dance Marathon 3 and raise your $25 on donor drive. If you do this by February 20th, then you will get a free t-shirt for the event!

 

Special Olympics Polar Plunge:

Respect is cool.... So come take the plunge for Special Olympics! We are looking for teams of 4 to take the Plunge on March 15th.  Minimum $5 per person, prizes awarded to the team with the best costume and most money raised. T-shirts are also on sale through February 21st via QR code on the flyer. Contact Sheila Puls or Megan VerStraete in Life Skills for any questions. 

 

Writer’s Club:

The Writer’s Club will be meeting on Tuesday, February 13 after school in Rm 4 from 3:00-4:30. Everyone is welcome to attend!

 

Ping Pong Club:

We will have Ping Pong Club on both Tuesday and Wednesday of this week from 3:14-4:45 both days.  We will have a two-day tournament for anyone interested in playing.  We will also have a table open for those not wishing to play in the tournament.

 

Musical Rehearsal:

The rehearsal  for the Spring Musical for Tuesday, February 13 is cancelled.  We will keep everyone informed as to when it will be rescheduled.

 

Silver Cord Opportunity:

Northside will be hosting a family math night on Tuesday, February 27th from 5:30 - 7:30.  Volunteers are needed.  Elementary students will be visiting a variety of stations promoting connection and mathematics.  The theme is “Carnival”.  If you are interested in volunteering please email Ashley Morey at  ashley.morey@geneseoschools.org'


Attention Sophomores:

Please continue to sell Butterbraids. Butterbraid money and forms will be collected on Friday, February 23rd before school. There will be a table set up near the office. All money and forms must be turned in on Monday, February 26th before school. There will be a table set up near the office again. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Bertelsen!


Wisconsin-Platteville & National Guard Visit:

On Wednesday, February 14th, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN and the National Guard will be visiting during 6th period. If you are interested in meeting with them, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place. 

 

Prom Invite Competition:

Do you have an eye for design?  The Class of 2025 is hosting a competition to design this year's prom invites. The theme this year is Enchanted Forest. The winning design will receive a $100 Amazon gift card! Those interested should submit their design by February 14th to Miss Komel. See fliers in the hallways for more details.


Greece Trip:

Attention Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors: Have you ever dreamt about traveling to Greece? Well now you can! We will be taking a travel abroad group to Athens and the Greek Islands during the Summer of 2025. If you are interested, there will be a meeting Sunday, February 18th at 3:00 p.m. in the Theatre where more information will be shared. Feel free to stop by Mrs. Litton’s room (20) to get a meeting invite with the RSVP QR code and meeting information.

 

Blood Drive Sign-Up:

Sign up to save a life, or better yet, save three.  Did you know that each blood donation saves three lives?  The annual blood drive will be held on Thursday, February 29, in the big gym.  Sign up now with any Student Council member.  Donors are asked to sign-up with the QR code and choose their own appointment time. 16-year-olds are required to have a signed parent consent slip from the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.  For further information see Mrs. Laingen or Mrs. Brewer.
